The other day I received a wonderfully heavy, flat and hard package. Inside was a photo book by Helmut Newton, compliments from my favourite publisher Taschen. The latest book with images by HN is called World Without Men and contains an assortment of fashion photographs from the mid-sixties to early eighties. Most images are in black and white and as usual the text is in French and German as well as in English, just like all fine books from Taschen – love it!
Stern 1978. Saint-Tropez. Yves Saint Laurent
This selection of Newton fashion editorials – one of the first books he ever published – is accompanied by journal entry-style texts by Newton himself, providing anecdotes and describing the circumstances of each shoot.
French Vogue 1969, Paris. Saga.
On every page is evidence of Newton’s groundbreaking vision that transformed fashion photography – an influence that can still be seen today in the pages of the world’s greatest fashion magazines 🙂

It’s a FAB book! You can buy it through Taschens wonderful web shop. But beware! You might end up with more books than you planned :-). They carry a wide variety of books covering everything from fashion to design, pop culture and film.

Sweden is still bitterly cold and we all think that spring has forgotten about us. This morning (note: on the 14th of March!) the temperature was whooping minus 10 Celcius. How do you like that? Whatever happened to the Greenhouse Effect? Pleeeeeease send some warm winds our way!
